Delish, goofy and groovy. Goin D-D7-G-G7, my pretty darling my baby sugar. Eggs was probably the first real song i wrote in my pale, cold and lonely bucket of a room in Grimmstrasse 23.
Chords, melody and text all done within an hour, BAM! Eggs - or "Hard working man - as it was originally named, had landed! No reason to spend months on this one, the track came together so naturally and easy, cooperatively going from Intro-vers-chorus, one of those where it almost seems as though the song is writing itself.
The quickest tune i have ever written and yet one of my faves, honestly feel like this track may be - more so than any of the other songs on the album - the perfect definition of a breakfast banger. Especially the keys added by Forrest moody made the difference, almost giving the song a really old school "Western bar" kinda vibe, honky tonk piano rolls 4ever! <3
Initially the song gave me a warm feeling reminding me a lot of Twin Peaks´ "making breakfast". Especially if played layed back and slow, sadly, my vocal couldt hold the same dark, smooth and lazy vocal as Clay Frankel, so fuck it, we give it to you energetic instead, just as we do live! Wake up with a kick, wake up with EGGS AND BACON.
